Fitment Advice & Size Verification

155/65 R14 is the narrow 14-inch radial used on the Maruti WagonR, Celerio, Chevrolet Spark and Nissan Pixo. It is a popular width in this rim size, so it is worth checking whether your car came with 155/65 R14 or the wider 165/70 R14 - the two are not interchangeable and the width difference changes both the grip and the fuel economy. The door placard or the sidewall code is the authority, and we will read it for you at the workshop.

Note: Always verify your vehicle door jamb sticker, fuel lid placard, or existing tyre sidewall markings before purchasing. For safe handling and speedometer accuracy, overall rolling diameter should remain within ±2% of original manufacturer fitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expert answers for 155/65 R14 pricing, pressure, and warranty

Both are 14-inch radials and the rolling diameters are close, but 165/70 R14 is 10 mm wider with a taller sidewall, which usually means a slightly larger overall diameter. That changes clearance under the arch, the speedometer reading and the fuel economy, so fit the size printed on your placard rather than the wider one by default.
They are fine for highway use at the correct pressure, but the narrow 155 mm section gives a smaller contact patch than a 185 or 195 section, so braking distances will be longer and the sidewall will flex more in crosswinds. If you do a lot of highway running, a wider pattern in the same rim size is the better choice.
New 155/65 R14 radials start from ₹1,900 at Sahara Tyre GIDC, with premium brand patterns running to about ₹4,200. Quality-checked used tyres are available at 25% to 40% of the new price. Fitting, valve replacement, balancing and initial nitrogen are included.
