Fitment Advice & Size Verification

165/70 R14 is the most widely used 14-inch radial in India, fitting the Hyundai i10, Renault Kwid, Maruti WagonR, Santro Xing and a long list of fleet cars. Its 70% aspect ratio gives a taller sidewall than 165/65 R14, which is why it absorbs the sharp-edged monsoon potholes around GIDC Phase 1 and 2 far better. If your car came with 155/65 R14, moving to 165/70 R14 is an upgrade in width and sidewall, so re-run a 3D alignment after fitting to correct the scrub radius.

Note: Always verify your vehicle door jamb sticker, fuel lid placard, or existing tyre sidewall markings before purchasing. For safe handling and speedometer accuracy, overall rolling diameter should remain within ±2% of original manufacturer fitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expert answers for 165/70 R14 pricing, pressure, and warranty

No. Both are 14-inch radials, but 165/70 R14 has a 5 mm taller sidewall, so the overall diameter grows from about 570 mm to 587 mm. The 165/70 R14 gives a softer, more protective ride, while the 165/65 R14 is a little more precise. Fit the size on your door placard.
The 70% sidewall is roughly 17 mm taller than a 60% sidewall of the same width, and that extra rubber is what absorbs sharp pothole edges. On the broken GIDC roads and the NH 48 stretch through Vapi, a taller sidewall significantly lowers the risk of a sidewall bulge and puncture.
Replace in pairs on the same axle at minimum. A new tyre on one side and a worn tyre on the other changes the grip balance and makes the car pull, and it also wears the new tyre faster. If only one tyre is damaged, we will still fit a matched pair at the same price per tyre.
