Fitment Advice & Size Verification

235/40 R19 is an extreme low-profile size used on performance sedans and hot hatches such as the Honda Civic, the Hyundai i20 N and select Volkswagen Golf GTI and Skoda Octavia RS variants. At a 40% profile the sidewall is only 94 mm tall, so this size demands a high-quality 19-inch alloy - we inspect the rim for cracks, runout and any evidence of a previous impact before fitting. The XL construction is important at this profile because the casing has less flex available. Expect a firmer ride than any smaller size, and be careful on the sharp-edged potholes around GIDC.

Note: Always verify your vehicle door jamb sticker, fuel lid placard, or existing tyre sidewall markings before purchasing. For safe handling and speedometer accuracy, overall rolling diameter should remain within ±2% of original manufacturer fitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expert answers for 235/40 R19 pricing, pressure, and warranty

It is the lowest profile we fit. On smooth city roads and the NH 48 highway it is excellent, but on broken roads with sharp edges the risk of sidewall damage rises sharply because there is very little rubber to absorb the strike. If your route includes a lot of unpaved or badly broken sections, a 235/45 R19 or a 225/45 R18 is a safer choice.
A 19-inch rim, generally 8 inches wide, and the correct offset for the vehicle. Because of the low profile, the sidewall needs to stretch correctly to seat the bead, so rim condition matters more than usual. We verify the rim diameter, width, offset and any runout before mounting.
Strongly recommended, and it is effectively essential for this profile. A short sidewall generates more heat at speed, and dry nitrogen holds pressure more consistently and keeps moisture out of the rim, which protects the alloy from internal corrosion. We fit 99.5% pure dry nitrogen with every new tyre installation at no extra cost.
