Fitment Advice & Size Verification

195/60 R15 is the premium 15-inch sedan size used on the Toyota Corolla, Skoda Rapid and older Honda City variants. Compared with a 185/60 R15 it adds 10 mm of width, which measurably shortens braking distances but does tighten the arch gap - on 15-inch alloys with low-profile fitments it is worth checking that nothing fouls on full lock. If your placard lists 195/55 R16, this is a downgrade in rim size and we will confirm the load rating before fitting.

Note: Always verify your vehicle door jamb sticker, fuel lid placard, or existing tyre sidewall markings before purchasing. For safe handling and speedometer accuracy, overall rolling diameter should remain within ±2% of original manufacturer fitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Expert answers for 195/60 R15 pricing, pressure, and warranty

No. 195/60 R15 needs a 15-inch rim and 195/55 R16 needs a 16-inch rim - the bead diameter is different, so the tyre will not seat. If you want to stay on 16-inch rims, the equivalent 16-inch sizes are 205/55 R16 and 205/60 R16, both of which we stock.
Yes, noticeably. A 195 mm section gives roughly 10% more contact patch than a 185 mm section at the same pressure, which translates into shorter wet braking distances. It also adds steering effort by about 5% and can reduce fuel economy by 0.5 to 1 km/l, so the trade-off is grip for economy.
Look at the sidewall of the tyre itself. The full size code, for example 195/60 R15 88H, is moulded on the sidewall of every tyre, and the size placard on the driver door jamb lists the factory-fitted size and pressures. Both should agree - if they do not, the tyres have already been changed at some point.
